We understand how important it is to ensure your vehicle is fully prepared before its National Car Test. The NCT applies to all cars over 4 years old and must be renewed every 2 years. However, once a vehicle reaches 10 years of age, the law now requires it to undergo the NCT every year. Driving without a valid NCT certificate is a serious offence—it not only results in a fine but also carries 3 penalty points, which can affect your insurance premium, as surcharges typically apply once a driver reaches 5 points.
Our team in Wicklow is committed to helping you avoid the stress and potential penalties associated with a failed test. That’s why, at Declan Brady’s Garage, we offer a free Pre-NCT check with every car service. Our technicians inspect key components that commonly lead to NCT failures, giving you confidence that your vehicle is safe, compliant, and ready for testing. Book your Pre NCT check today for €40.
